Geoff Straub continued his excellent form to take out the John Dewhurst Memorial Handicap Road Race on Sunday 27 April. Starting off the scratch mark, Geoff also took the prize for the fastest time, showing that he is one of the strongest riders in the region at the moment.

Six of ten starters recorded PB’s in the junior time trial, including the Allen brothers, Lasse Mikkelsen, Kyle O’Hara, Rita Brisset and Roberta Thompson (well … it was Roberta’s first ride, so she’ll only get faster from here!).

In a period of just over 12 months, there have been 8 serious accidents within our club, with 10 riders injured badly enough to be out of action for lengthy periods. This represents a substantial increase on the previous year.
