Kirk wins mini-tour

To celebrate the end of the 2010 Tour de France, Armidale CC staged its own mini tour on Dangarsleigh Road on Saturday 24 July. Although not nearly as strenuous as the French race, many riders found the three stages in one day quite a challenge.

Happy birthday John!

Armidale’s fastest octogenarian John Bentley celebrated his first ride as an 85 year old this Saturday 3 July. Asked what his secret was later at the Bowling Club he replied “plenty of riding and the occasional tipple of Dr Tooheys’ Magic Elixir” . Ashford Road Race 2010

Eight Armidale riders traveled to Inverell on Saturday to compete in the Ashford Road Race, including Wilfried Keller, Chicka Russell, Roger Munday, Phil Thomas, Andrew Swan, John Scott-Hamilton, Mick Hoult and Geoff Straub. The race was a 70km out and back handicap with the infamous “9 mile” hill on the return.
