Memberships can now be renewed on-line at this site.
The following information comes from Cycling NSW. There are 3 categories of membership for 2009:
1. Recreational – entry level: This is for non-competitive riders, officials, supporters etc. It covers recreational rides, club training, group rides, and replaces the Ride-it license.
Senior 19+ | $66 |
Junior 13-18 | $44 |
Kidz U13 | $5 |
Family | $154 |
2. Sport: non-competitive membership extended to permit participation in timed individual and team based road events. This includes events that are timed and finishers may be placed in order of finishing time. However, they are not awarded prizes or recognised on the basis of those placings. Does not include fully competitive and/or championship time trials. The cost of this license is $110.
3. Racing:
U23, Elite | $242 |
U19 | $198 |
Masters 30-64 | $198 |
Masters 65+ | $110 |
Junior U17, U15 | $110 |
Junior U13,U11,U9 | $110 |
Several points are of note:
- You cannot race with the Recreational license.
- Racing is possible with the Sport license but only at the local club level.
- You need to have the Racing license to compete in interclub and state events.
- Membership fees have increased, in part because Cycling NSW incorrectly included a Club Membership fee. Armidale Cycling Club does not charge this fee. Our advise is to pay the amount as specified on the license renewal page above. Cycling NSW will then return the “Club Fee” to us, and we will decide on the best way to distribute this back to members.
Changes to Masters licenses
As outlined in Cycling NSW’s Spoken Word Newsletter #176 there have been changes to the conditions of Masters licenses. Riders turning 30 years of age or above in 2009 are eligible for a Masters license, which allows entry into masters events, club graded events, and nsw open events, but not in elite championships and/or uci non-masters events. Advice from Cycling NSW is that all states have adopted these changes, and you will be able to race in other states with a Masters license under these conditions.
