So long Bruce!

On Saturday the 24th we farewelled long time member Bruce Buxton, who is leaving town to take up a job as principal of Bourke High School (they’re in for a suprise!).

Bruce has made a big contribution to the club in many ways, not the least of which is his unique sense of humour.

He lined up for his last race (for the time being anyway) with the usual B grade suspects, and just for old time’s sake, Wilfried put on one of his trademark attacks right from the start.

But the bunch came together again, and despite several more half-hearted attacks, stayed that way until the end.

And even though Bruce made his move a bit early thinking there were 2 laps to go rather than 3, he held on to take the win by a whisker from the rapidly finishing Burton boys.

Definitely one for the bookies!
