A team time trial was conducted on Saturday 10 October, and it proved to be a hit with all the riders. The race was held over 30km on the Dangarsleigh Road course.
There were three teams of four riders and one team of five. Each team had riders of similar ability, and it was a requirement that three riders had to finish together at the end of the race, with the team’s time taken from the third rider over the line. The twist in the race was that there was a secret handicap place on the stronger groups to even up the race.
In the end it was the team of Blake Burgess, Gill Burgess, David Boundy and Brody Walker who were awarded the win on the day. They were followed by the team of John Scott-Hamilton, Mike Hoult, Col Maciver and Rob Tindale. In 3rd place was the team of Bill Mara, Lachie McPhie, Peter Creagan, Ross Burgess and Nick Myhill. 4th team home was Jo Benham, Bob Weston, Brent Weston and Craig Burton. Good times were posted by all teams with the winning team finishing the race in under an hour.
