Sam Jenner was the best performed Armidale rider at the Coffs Harbour Crit on Sunday 6 December, finishing second in the novice race. An older rider rode away from the bunch in the early stages of the race to take the win. In the meantime, Sam rode very well in the main bunch and was too good in the sprint for second. His placing ensured that he maintains the lead in the McDonalds Northern Region Criterium Series.
Dave Jenner was trying to extend his lead in C grade following his win in Port Macqaurie, but unfortunately it wasn’t to be. Although he had a couple of willing club mates as helpers, they were less than useful, leaving him to do all the work on the last lap. After riding on the front for the whole of the last lap, Dave faded to finish just out of the top 5.
Mick Hoult and Chris Lang rode in B grade, a race that was slower than C! Both rode well with Mick winning a prime and Chris finishing just out of the placings after being shut out in the approach to the finish.
There a few photos available here – unfortunately the photographer left before B grade.
