Excellent news from Tamworth on the long weekend with Sam Jenner first and Gil Burgess sixth in their divisions of the junior tour.
Sam dominated the U15B’s, although he got off to a shaky start in the first stage when he was blocked in the sprint. Still, he managed to come second. He then won the second stage and went into day two in the lead for the overall. Proving that his day one efforts were no fluke he went on to win both the third and final stages sealing the overall.
Gil also did well, finishing in third place in stage 1 and riding consistently over the next three stages to finish in sixth place overall, only a minute behind the winner.
With riders coming from all over the state, this event is virtually a mini state championships. Congratulations to both boys who are starting to show the benefits of hard work.
