Two cycling nominees are included in the twelve contenders: The first is Mitch Bullen for his success at the Country track championships, Keirin medal in Adelaide and massive win in Bundaberg. Peter McDonald is the other cycling contender, overseas success in the Japan Cup and the King of the Mountains jersey in the Tour of Langkawi.

The winner receives a Skins pack consisting of a Skins bag, a cap, a water bottle and a towel.  Other contenders exist for all those inferior sports involving balls, javelins, or running around chasing other people on foot.  None of those deserve to win of course.
