Racing reminders

Make sure you get in contact with Mark Bullen at the Armidale Bicycle Centre to get your entry in for the Mt Yarrowyck “Hell of the North West” – tell him which race you want to do (20/40/100).  The earlier we get numbers, the easier things are to organise.

The Tamworth club have listed an email entry contact for Nemingha-Nundle on the 15th of May – get clicking!  If a chump like me can contemplate entering it, then so can you.

Geoff Straub will be racing the U23 Liege Bastogne Liege this weekend – keep an eye out for results!

This weekend is a 40km race on Dangarsleigh – so it’s a bit longer than usual on an extended course.  If you’re thinking to yourself: “Hey, isn’t the road there a vertical cliff like those old-timey pictures of sailing boats floating off the edge of the world?”, you’re right.  The world does end at the 16km mark and turns into a nether-world of white-knuckled scaredy on the way out and knee busting pain on the way back.

Apparently it’s character building, or that’s what the crusty old-timers who eat Rockvale Road for breakfast will tell you.  I say:  I don’t know, I just know that everyone has to remember not to turn too early. Iif you need something for breakfast, I recommend Rocky Road instead.  It’s made of chocolate and marshmallows and who doesn’t like that?
