No, that’s not a description of what happens when you don’t wash your knicks.
John Scott-Cannibal unleashed an unbeatable sprint for an A/B scratchicap race, with Ice Cold Billy Mara taking the B grade trophy. Dave “Boundy” Boundy pounded the Long Swamp course to take a well deserved C grade win.
A grade was lead out by a flying Mick Hoult, chasing the B grade bunch who had been waved off two minutes ahead in the scratchicap race. Micks 70km/h+ pace down the first hill detached Col Maciver who battled fiercely to get back on. The flying A graders hoovered up B grade in the first 7km zone then proceeded to a flying finish in which Iron Mick lead out the Cannibal for his trophy winning sprint.
D grade were sent out 2 minutes ahead of C, with the C grade bunch quickly dropping a gaggle of unfortunate juniors on restricted gearing who couldn’t match the wind assisted pace down the hill. By 200m after the turnaround Mark Haydon, Dave Boundy and Dave Rubie had hit the lead and blown through a scattered D grade. Haydos and Boundy-Boundy dropped Rubie on the last turnaround, let him back on, then let him drift away on the forest climb before Haydos and Boundy battled for the win. Boundy climbed to a winning finish easily. Freya Weston battled through the wind to round up D grade and finish and astonishing fourth.

The large numbers of DNF recorded in B grade remain unexplained. Swamp gas?
