The Club Championship was won by David Munday last weekend, After a smoking TT and a brave, but smart attack in the road race he rode solo to the finish putting over 50 seconds into the other A graders. Dave “Fingers” Rugendyke brought home second with Sam “The Jennerator” Jenner in third.
Women’s Club Champion went to Holly Harris who dominated the the field. The mountain bike champion (soon turning roadie) busted Karlee McMillan early and was too smart to challenge the power and sprint speed of Sophie Wallace (2nd place) to a sprint, so she performed a sharp attack on the rise before the downhill finish which proved successful.Fellow NEMTB member Peter Hosking hasn’t been on a roadie for long but still took out the B grade championships, Peter was equal on points with other Peter (PC) but had a faster TT time making him B grade Champion.
And last but not least C grade, C grade was won by another one of those Harris’ !! Michael Harris won both TT and road race edging out Jack Parker in the sprint.
Congratulations to all our Champions and everyone else that raced.
Special thanks to all the organisers, timekeepers, marshals etc. It was great to have such a high level of support and it certainly ensured everything ran smoothly (except for Dave McM holding me back on the time trial standing start: I’m sure I lost about three minutes).
Congrats to winners, and all other competitors who braved very windy and cold conditions.
Congrats to all champs, good to see the MTB crew get up!
