All In The Family

Mundays and Bourkes dominate the weekend racing.

After a thunderstorm interrupted proceedings during a massive turnout for the juniors (I counted 22 – that’s more than some seniors races), the uncertain weather opened an opportunity for some criterium action at the track.

A grade was won by Harrison “H” Munday, Andrew “Kirkie” Kirk invervening at second with Dave Munday coming in third place.  Greg Mantten managed a brave escape half way through the race, although “the Cannibal” John Scott-Hamilton observed they didn’t leave him hanging out there quite long enough to teach him a lesson.  He looked plenty hurt to me though.

B grade was dominated by the Bourke Boys (leaving everybody back of Bourke) except for Peter “Captain” Creagan who managed to pip Adam Bourke for second.  Dene romped home for first, leaving the way open for a nice A grade debut next week.  Good luck Dene!  Chicka Russell fronted up covered in scabs and bruises after Dave “Bouncer” Boundy landed on him last week.  Boundy was completely unmarked after the incident, but Chicka held up pretty well despite his Boundy inflicted injuries so if you need something to land on during a race, look for Chicka.

OK, that was a pretty weak Bourke  joke but seriously, with that last name, what else is there?

Fearless club president Swannie forgot his helmet, so he couldn’t race.  That’s the kind of excuse I usually use swannie!
