Despite having to get off his bike half-way through to fix a petulant chain (and probably make a cup of tea), John “The Cannibal” Scott-Hamilton cleaned up on the Long Swamp individual time time this afternoon with an 8 second victory over a hard-charging Andrew Swan who almost took the spoils on a conventional setup bike. Col Maciver showed great form, ripping into the riders ahead of him to take third from a starting position of 7th.
Jack Parker again demonstrated his growing triathlon skills, posting an impressive 25:39 achieved by passing 6 riders on a day when the faster riders were released first into a brisk headwind on the outward leg of the hilly 15K course. Captain Creagan was the other rider to beat the form book posting 9th spot having started 16th and clearly relishing the prospect of 3 Peaks in just 2 weeks time.
Thanks to Wilf for putting the signs out and marshaling a slickly-run event.
