Jenner to Race Cadel Evans Classic

Armidale’s Sam Jenner has been selected as one of seven Jayco Australian National Team riders in the 2016 Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race taking place in Geelong on Sunday 31 January. The men’s race will feature current 2016 Santos Tour Down Under leader and dual Australian champion Simon Gerrans (ORICA-GreenEDGE) plus all three reigning Australian road champions in Jack Bobridge (Trek-Segafredo), Rohan Dennis (BMC Racing) and Caleb Ewan (ORICA-GreenEDGE).

As if all that wasn’t enough, Sam will also have an opportunity to mix it up on the road with sprint legend Mark Cavendish, in his only Australian appearance of 2016.

Victoria’s Alistair Donohoe, 20, and Sydney’s Ben Dyball, 25, will spearhead a dynamic young line-up that will mix it with the world’s best at the UCI category event

  • Alistair DONOHOE, VIC, 20
  • Benjamin DYBALL, NSW, 25
  • Samuel JENNER, NSW, 18
  • Angus LYONS, VIC, 20
  • Mathew ROSS, VIC, 19
  • Michael STORER, WA, 18
  • Nicholas SCHULTZ, QLD, 21

Congratulations Sam and good luck from everyone at Armidale Cycling Club and the wider Armidale community.
