Dangarsleigh ITT Results

After an aborted effort the previous weekend, the weather gods relented and the club 2022 road racing season was kicked off on a fine & sunny autumn afternoon. With a 20km ITT on the menu, the race of truth would provide a great benchmark to start our race season.

With 16 riders lined up, we welcomed back Adam Edwards to start proceedings as our GO rider, with the following racers set off at 1 minute intervals. With no time splits available at the turnaround, the racing picture came down to the finishing times, and there were some standout efforts on the day.

The ride of the day was by Toby Inglis, who completed the 20km parcours in a time of 28:35 at an average speed of 42kmh, which is a course record over this distance. The remaining podium spots were taken by Mick Hoult and Andy Robb, with Phil Thomas a close 4th, with all 3 riders recording PB’s on their TT rigs.

The leading female rider was Katherine Hosking, who put in a great ride to finish 7th on the day….time to invest in some TT bars Katherine!

The battle was also on for the fastest road bike time, which was nabbed by Shaun Brennan, who continued his personal battle with Pat Ferris to edge out his nemesis by a mere 5 seconds…next time Patty!

Another standout ride was Abbott White, who was riding with TT bars for the first time, and in a sign of continual improvement finished with the 10th fastest time on the say at an avg speed of 35kmh…nice effort.

Thanks to all riders for some great efforts to start the season; thanks to Rob Tindale for doing the signs and running the race. Next week we hit the road for the start of the classics season with the Mur de Dangarsleigh handicap race.
