If you haven’t ridden in a bunch before it can be quite intimidating but everyone has to start somewhere and the Tuesday night development rides are a perfect place to start. The development rides are a “no drop” ride which means the group will wait for you – even if you get a flat or fall off the back of the group. You don’t need a racing licence or to be a member of the Armidale Cycling Club to ride in the development group…you just need to be capable of riding a distance of 30km. The rides provide a great opportunity to chat to more experienced riders if you are working on improving your riding skills and techniques in a low pressure environment.
Development rides depart from the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Dangersleigh Road at 5.30pm every Tuesday. All you need is your road bike, a helmet and a drink bottle.
