In a fantastic result, Mitch Bullen won the Clarence Street Cup held at the Dunc Grey Velodrome on 29 November 2008.
Now in its 27th year this is one of the most prestigious races on the NSW track cycling calendar, with previous winners including Australian representitives such as Athens gold medallist Graeme Brown and Ben Kersten.
Run as a wheel race over 7 laps, Mitch rode off a mark of 50m showing great speed to take the win.
He then backed up to finish 2nd in the NSW U19 Championship scratch race, won by Scott Law of the Illawarra Cycling Club. This was a fast and exciting race with Mitch having to contend with a number of Illawarra riders working together as a team. He again showed he had the speed but came up just short.
These were great performances by Mitch who has been training very hard towards these goals. He has two more state championship races over the coming weeks (sprint and keirin) and we wish him all the very best.
