Have you ever considered becoming a cycling coach? Coaching is a great way to challenge your ability to communicate, plan, increase your knowledge and most of all, help others achieve their goals.
If this sounds like you, then we have some great news for you. The Armidale and Tamworth Cycling Clubs have successfully negotiated to co-host the next Road & Track Skills, scheduled for the weekend of 30th June /1st July. In doing so, we’ve managed to keep the costs to the participants to a minimum. Day 1 will be held in Armidale and Day 2 in Tamworth. The cost of the course is $250 and will be covered in full by the Armidale Cycling Club. In addition to attending the course, you will be required to hold an accreditation in administering first aid. If you do not currently have a first aid accreditation, our club will cover that cost as well. Although spaces are limited, we do have a few spots left . Travel to and from Tamworth, along with any meals will need to be covered by participants.
In return, the Armidale Cycling Club would require you to contribute back to the club in the form of volunteering your time to assist with the development of riders within the cycling community. With the focus being on juniors at the moment, this would translate into approximately 1-2 hours per month with the running of the junior program under the guidance of the Club Development Officer (Chris Stace).
The Road & Track Skills Coaching Course is discipline and event-specific to Road and Track Cycling. It is designed for, and targeted at beginner coaches who assist beginner and club riders to develop their road and track riding skills. The course addresses discipline-specific planning and evaluation, bike set-up, road and track cycling skill development and practical coaching. The course is two days in duration – day one is the AustCycle Skills Coaching Course (ASCC) and day two is specific to road and track cycling. It is delivered by the constituent organisations of Cycling Australia. For more information about the course, please click on the link below.
If you would like more information, or would like to nominate yourself, please contact Chris Stace directly via email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 0434 001 787. Nominations will be considered on a first in first served basis, provided you are committed to make a contribution back to the club so best get moving and let us know as soon as possible if you are interested.
