Roadies – we melt in the rain. I suppose if you’d had a decent stack out at the driver training circuit you might be pretty circumspect about giving it some on an increasingly slippery track. Most common refrain: I woulda won that if Soz hadn’t called it early!
Y’know what, I was feeling pretty good, I would have totally won C grade if the race hadn’t been called early. I was having the race of the season – marking out Boundy and Bourke for a right royal pounding but the weather beat me to it.
Wilko would definitely have won A grade, as he said at the bowlo afterwards: “I had ’em lit up and was just ready to smoke ’em”. It seems that a steady diet of dagwood dogs from his new carny friends is the new super-secret A grade weapon (only, the WEATHER!)
How about you? Ready to win it, only for the autocratic Jacketless Mick Sozou calling it too early? Claim your prize in comments!
(prize is 20 tickets in the raffle for the flat bar road bike being raffled for the Autumn Festival Criterium, open to any current member of the Armidale cycling club including juniors, winner subject to the whim of the author, value $40, you do not have to have been present at the race, you just have to make me laugh by Friday the 11th of March 2011)
