UPDATED – Police Escort Now Arranged

Steve Waugh and 65+ other bike riders taking part in The Captain’s Ride will be in Armidale on Tuesday night. They then head out for Dorrigo early on Wednesday morning, the fourth day of their ride from Sydney to Byron Bay to raise awareness and funds for children and young adults suffering from rare diseases.

We have just heard today that Highway Patrol are available to provide a Police escort as Armidale Cycling Club riders see them off in style on Wednesday from their accommodation at the PowerHouse motel on Marsh St.

All ACC club riders please meet at the PowerHouse on Marsh St in full club kit ready to depart for Harvey Norman at 6:30am

If you aren’t an ACC club rider, you can still get involved – just get down to Harvey Norman between 6-7am for a BBQ breakfast to support Steve and his crew as they head eastwards. Steve will be there along with former test spin bowler Gavin Robertson and former AFL star Danny Frawley.
