Just over one week to go until the Armidale Cycling Club 2016 Club Championships are upon us. With the ITT and Criterium winners already established for 2016, we now have just the prestigious Road Race Championships to come which will determine the overall Club Champion for 2016.

Raced over 45km on the Long Swamp, the start time has been brought forward to 3pm so that we can round off the event with announcement of the overall winners and also then hang around to enjoy a sociable cold drink and sausage sizzle – all welcome.

It’s sure to be an exciting afternoon of racing with a new mass-start Scratch race format that will not only recognise winners within all of the various Male and Female categories, but also potentially allows anyone, from any category to become Overall Club Champion. So polish up your podium speeches, tell your friends and family and prepare yourselves for one cracker of a race on Saturday 22nd October 2016.

Note, because all current Junior riders are racing with Senior riders at present, there will not be an independent Junior Championship day this year. All Junior riders who race at the Club Championships on 22nd October will compete in their relevant age and male/female categories. If we have U15, U17, U19 riders then there will be a category and recognised winner for each of these.
