Zwift Setup for Online Rides & Races

Here are the all the details needed for getting setup online for Zwift riding and races.

At its most basic, you need the following equipment:

– A bike
– A trainer or a set of rollers
– An ANT+ or Bluetooth measurement tool: a power meter, smart trainer or speed/cadence sensor
– A compatible computer, smartphone or tablet with Bluetooth or ANT+ (or an ANT+ USB dongle)
– A good fan (it gets hot!)

Here’s a good video that explains the options:

Your local bike shop can also go through all the options and should have all the equipment required to get you started.

Once you have the equipment setup, you need to get a Zwift account – there’s a 7 day free trial. All the details can be found in the link below. Also don’t forget to install the Zwift companion app on your phone, as this is used to signup for events, in-ride messaging, ride controls, power-ups and more.

With the equipment setup and a registered account, you should be good to go. If you want more details on the setup options below is an excellent explanation of these:

One last thing, if you want to race then register on ZwiftPower, which is a community based app that is used to record official race results. Details on this in the link below.
