The 2016 Walcha Mountain Festival is coming up soon which includes two great cycling events. On Saturday 15th October 2016 the Walcha Road Ride Challenge starts the weekend off with a 75km ride open to all riders at all levels. There is Online Entry available for this ride which can be done individually or in teams of 3. Your entry fee covers marshalling costs, insurance and a sausage sizzle at the completion of the race (er ride). Event Jerseys can also be purchased for $60. Check out this event flyer for more details and get along to support this great annual event.
Even better, make a whole weekend of two-wheeled fun. On the Sunday morning the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Mountain Bike Teams Challenge (which is now based at the historic and picturesque Langford Homestead) kicks off at 8am. This really is set in a great location with plenty to do for family and friends while you’re smashing out a few laps. The MTB action is a lot of fun and as competitive as you want to make it. Last year even Kirky had a go so it’s clearly open to all abilities. Entries available online for that one here.
So mark that weekend in your diaries now and make sure you get over to Walcha to support our good cycling friends at the 2016 Mountain Festival.
