Following the club meeting on Wednesday, we’ve made a few adjustments to the road racing calendar. It is now fully populated right through to December so please check out the latest racing schedule and make sure you’re aware when you’re rostered on for race duty. When your turn for running the race comes up please take a few minutes to familiarise yourself with the race-day process ahead of time.
There really is something for everyone in 2018. You’ll spot a Club Criterium Championship back again in about a month or so just before the Autumn Festival races. Then we have a quick gravel race before launching straight into the Road Racer of the Year 2018. This year our club officials have reduced it to a punchy 10 round competition finishing in August so every race will count. Then the Club ITT and Road Championships are scheduled for the end of October followed by a month of crits to put some speed into those legs as the season draws to a close.
As a result of the shortened RROTY contest we have more scratch racing and ITT events. Competitors in time trials are free to choose standard or time trial bikes and we will publish timed results both by bike category and overall for these events as we have since 2017.
A final reminder that disk-braked bikes are also permitted for club racing this year.
